Abstract

Angle's Class III malocclusion syndrome is a severe alteration and is considered as a more advanced position of the mandibular body in relation to the maxillary bony base, either due to a maxillary deficiency or retrusion or due to a mandibular prognathism or macropnatism. The etiology of this alteration is due to hereditary and environmental factors. The clinical case of a patient in the first decade of life is presented with the purpose of correcting his bite. For the treatment it was proposed to perform maxillary protraction by using a Mc Namara type splint cemented in the upper jaw, a Pettit facial mask and finally the rotation of the occlusal plane was performed by means of occlusal wear of the splint, to allow the eruption of the lower molars, finally correcting the overjet and overbite, modifying the anteroposterior profile and the orientation of the occlusal plane.
