Abstract

The altered passive eruption produces a gingival excess which causes pseudo bags and compromises the aesthetics of the patient. The periodontal treatment should focus on restoring the normal relationship between the gingival margin, the alveolar bone crest and the cementoenamel junction (CAL). The objective of this article is to present the clinical management (diagnosis and treatment plan) of the altered passive eruption.
