Abstract

Aim:To evaluate the marginal leakage of the temporary restorative materials: glass ionomer cement, biodentine, eugenol, coltosol and cavit, through the Lee scale. Materials and methods: : The sample studied was 75 pieces extracted, of which 15 were filled with glass ionomer, 15 with biodentine, 15 with Zinc eugenolate, 15 with coltosol and 15 with cavit, performed at the School of Dentistry of the Catholic University of Cuenca. later the teeth were placed in methylene blue dye with physiological serum at a temperature of 17 o for 48 hours. Finally, cuts were made with a diamond disc in a sagittal direction to measure, based on the Lee scale, the depth of penetration of the dye with the help of a millimeter ruler. Results: Showed that there was a significant statistical difference among groups; the teeth restored with biodentine and coltosol obtained the lowest grade of filtration, while the ones restored with eugenol obtained the highest figures of filtration.
