Abstract

Abstract

Introducction: Manufacturers of restorative materials for CAD CAM are offering more and more new products that they claim will improve those that we had until now. Among them are ceramic filled resinous polymers that have good mechanical and optical properties. However, for a material to be successful in the mouth, it must also have higth bond strength. Materials and Methods: 5 Brava Block blocks were cut to obtain 50 sheets of 14x14x1mm. 200 microtubes of conventional resin 5 mm high x 0.8 mm in diameter and subsequently cemented on the polymer sheets. Prior to cementation, the adherent surfaces were sandblasted. Once sandblasted, the immediate group then proceeded to cement the microtubes. While the other groups were delayed by 24, 48 and 72 hours the adhesive procedure. Results: the Anova with a Tukey post hoc found statistically significant differences between the sandblasted and immediately cemented group, when compared to other groups. Conclusion: This polymeric material achieved high adhesion bond strength even after aging, as long as the correct cementation technique is followed.
