Extracciones múltiples en el contexto del COVID 19: Reporte de caso clínico de un cuarto molar

El cuarto molar también llamado distomolar o retromolar por su localización distal o posterior a los terceros molares, es una variante de número y forma que se presenta durante la odontogénesis. Mediante el presente caso clínico se trató a una paciente de sexo femenino de 22 años de edad que acude a la consulta odontológica de la facultad de odontología de la Universidad de Cuenca, con la necesidad de que se le extrajeran los terceros molares en una sola cita debido a las limitaciones del COVID-19 y en la cual se encontró la presencia de un cuarto molar en la exploración radiológica. Dentro del procedimiento se recurrió a la técnica de osteotomía para la extracción quirúrgica del cuarto molar con el propósito de prevenir el desplazamiento hacia el seno maxilar, además se consideró la complementación de antibióticos a la terapia analgésica para minimizar las posibles complicaciones postoperatorias. Posterior al procedimiento quirúrgico se realizaron seguimientos a través de teleodontología de carácter consultivo mediante llamada telefónica con el fin de supervisar la ingesta adecuada de medicamentos y verificar la evolución del paciente.
