Abstract

Supernumerary teeth, are anomalies that affect the total number of teeth, the fourth molar also called by some authors as paramolar or distomolar corresponds to this variant, etiology is unknown and is attributed to hereditary factors, the duplication of the dental lamina, horizontal proliferation or the hyperactivity of dental lamina. The fourth molar is an uncommon condition, whose surgical treatment can be complex and bring complications during and after surgery. Therefore, special considerations are necessary. The objective of this article is to present a clinical case of the extraction of the left upper fourth molar in a patient of Russian nationality of 29 years of age, in order to provide knowledge to the professional of this peculiar and unusual anomaly.
